Cool Thumbs Up

I think you would need a lot smaller caravan but should cope well enough, but you would need to work out a winch system and shallower river crossing points Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

You wouldn't do that with a British built caravan, it'd be in pieces within the 1st hundred yards, and full of water.

I reckon that caravan cost more than the Land Cruiser to engineer for that kind of punishment Bow down

Australia 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey

Note Landcruiser - older model made to go offroad and there are plenty of spares throughout the Australian bush.
The van is a Kedron Van, built specifically to go where others won't. The family that build them seem to have a great lifestyle - 9 months building them and remaining 3 trying to break them so the next version can be tougher again. If there's a problem, they ammend their specs. Key staff are on the trip to witness the problems first hand. It's a great philosophy. Consequently, there's a long waiting list to get one made and they aren't cheap!
I'd like to take a Freelander 2 up to the Cape (York) but I will need a bit more testing yet.
