i do like the way this topic starts with an apology, it's about time too.
alternative to caravaning :
drive to airport, get on plane, stay somewhere unusual, do unusual stuff, get on plane, drive home.
just a suggestion

I go by plane abroad as well for holidays. I also have a caravan to enjoy this county with. Although I have been down to the Med a few times with it as well.
It doesn't need to be a choice of one or the other.

I'm fed up with paying over the odds for holidays with the two kids and Mrs Fraz, during peak school holiday season and am to much of a 'poof' to go under canvas, I like my own shower, loo and bed, don't want to be joined by wind, rain and bugs!!!...and after a roasting holiday in Kos this year realised how much we loved Britain...even if the weather here can be crap!! So, I have the diesel FL2 auto and are considering one of the Swift 6 berth 25ft vans.....any advice/ comments/ recommendations?? budget upto say £15K for new only!!!, kids are 9yrs and 7yrs, so 6 berth gives that bit of extra space for us all......your input is welcome or if you just want to throw stones as you pass us next summer, just throw at the van not the car Laughing Laughing

I have a Coachman Pastiche 520/4 and have had some good holidays in it, I used to go on holidy when I was young with my parents so I was brought up with caravan hoilidays , I have towed a caravan off and on for about 30 years and i am still enjoying it.
I have an SE TD4 and it pulls the caravan with no problem the caravan full laden is 1520 KG.
I think the new Pastiche comes in at around £15 to £16 K
I hope that this has been of some help.
