They give it a slightly meaner look, Thumbs Up but what purpose do they serve other than looks Question They also look like they cut down on ground clearance quite a bit Exclamation

Pretty much a direct fit Nick. There is a lug that you have to cut off the bibs, then you use the two existing screws in the bumper and then for the third mounting screw, you have to drill a small hold in the underside of the bumper.

I should wait for the new bumper, but figured I would try it on the pre-facelift bumper, but they fit perfectly.

I have been doing some research, these are fitted to the new car to help direct the airflow around the largely expose front wheels, this is helping with the improved mpg and lower emmisions.

The facelift front bumper/grill has also been designed with improved airflow in mind. It would be interesting to see that once the new bumper/grill is fitted, will I see any improvement in mpg? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Have a read of the post above yours and I added a bit of info about their purpose.

They are also very flexible so no problems with clearance. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Cheers MAV71. Thumbs Up

Would be interesting to know if these have any benefit to MPG on the standard front end?

A better improvement it will be the fact that the water wont be splashed over the windshield when driving through water with higher speeds...
This issue is a safety one, which, I believe, takes precedence before improved MPG...

That could have something to do with it, but the guys I spoke with at Halewood LR said their main priority was to reduce drag and improve MPG and lower emmissions. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. It's my summer toy. I have always been into Vauxhall's and wanted something to tinker about with. So found this Astra Linea Rossa Convertible. It's an early 2003 model with just 28000 miles on the clock. Been spending time getting it as mint as possible.

I've just fitted the bib spoilers to my 2008 HSE. It would've taken me 20 minutes if I hadn't decided to put some captive nut things on to give a bit more security to the two new screws. I used the two screws that I removed when fitting mudflaps, for the new fittings as they are identical to the existing screws.
I could have got away just using the existing bumper screws and screwing the new screws into the bumper and wheel arch liner plastic, but I'm a belt & braces sort of person. I found that a 3 or 3.5mm drill was the right size for fitting the new screws directly to the bumper.

Until I get chance to do a longer journey, I fitted them more for looks than fuel economy. However, now diesel is touching £1.30 a litre, every little bit helps. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!
