No headlight bulb failure warning?

I've just had both my headlamp bulbs fail within days of each other, and am surprised there is no warning of this? I can't remember the last car I had that didn't warn you of bulb failures, but I bet it was in the early 90's! I have read the manual and it does not mention that a bulb failure is one of the things you get warned about.

The bulbs that failed were Philips Extreme Power H7 and a little less than 2 years old. Reasonable they should fail at the same time I suppose, but a warning to others out there with the same aftermarket bulbs! Freelander 2 TD4 HSE auto Tonga Green/Alpaca

Sorry, but no bulb failure warning on FL2.
It's a bit c Censored p to be honest and as the headlamps are powered by FET's, it would have cost next to nowt to add this feature.
The boys at Gaydon missed a trick here. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I have had a drivers side main beam bulb go, and the only thing that tells you it's gone, is if you put the main beam on and then the drivers side indicator, the indicator flash's really quickly and the orange bulbs stay on. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather.
