I've just had a call from a company calling themselves "HelpPCOnline.com.
The lovely man said he is responding to an online complaint I've made about slow download, his name was Haydn George. He has a fairly strong accent.
Anyway, I presume most of you would do what I did whilst he was on the phone, namely type in the freephone number he gave me 08009770035, and bingo, it's a scam where the unwary download a remote programme so that they can "get rid of virus's ". He wan't at all phased by my having a Mac!.
We hung up on him, and he rang back twice, but seemed to give up when we told him he was now harassing us.
I post this here, as I presume they will d
go through the Chorlton number sequentially.

Persistant aren't they, they have been phoning here for about three months, the first time one of the boys took the call and suspected things were not correct, he claimed to be from Microsoft, saying that the PC had viruses, they asked him to do a couple of things an my lad played along with it they then said oh yes you have loads of viruses and wanted him to go to wwww.logmein to down load the software so he could then clear the viruses, my lad hung up, he then phoned back straight away, hung up again and he still phoned back. The second time we told them we were running Macs (why Microsoft would care about viruses on Macs) and they said that they were worse for viruses than last week when they phoned we said we didn't have a PC in the house and he became abusive and told my lad to have sex and travel
