Can I install iPod connector VPLFE0002 myself?

Awaiting delivery of my new (used) FL2 2.2 TD4 HSE on Monday, and I note it doesn't come with iPod connectivity. Understand I need to get myself a VPLFE0002 connector, but would rather fit it myself than have to pay to get it done, can anyone point me in the direction of fitting instructions?

Alternatively, is the VPLFE0002 the best way to connect an iPod/iPhone for music? Or is there another Griffin-type system that users have found superior?

Hi. I've had an HSE TD4 for a few months now, and before it was delivered I looked at fitting the interface. There are some great resources showing you how to do it but it involves taking out the dash!

I just use the standard line in jack... costs nothing.

To be honest, for what it costs and what you get I wouldn't bother with one. Get a decent line in and a Griffin cup holder thingy. Hi Darling, I'll be home in 10 mins. If I'm not back, please read this message again...

Great, thanks... so there is a jack port on the radio/CD is there? I looked but didn't see one, which is why I was following up the iPod connector.

In between the two seats at the rear of the center console thing. There is an aux in there, doesn't suffer from ground loop whine either which is a bonus. Hi Darling, I'll be home in 10 mins. If I'm not back, please read this message again...

I have a Kensington liquid aux thing which has power and audio leads perfect
for the arrangement in the FL2 console.
Sounds great as it uses line out not headphones.
Robust iPod cable and connector.

Hope this helps. Fuji White MY13 SD4 Dynamic
