Navigon 70 Plus

Hello everybody
Sorry for my bad english, i'm writing from France, There is not a lot of french websites concerning the Freelander.

My Mom bought a 2007 used Freelander 2 TD4 S. It hasn't got Sat Nav. So I was searching and I found there a topic for a sony Sat nav.
But a lot of reviews says that it has a bad signal.
So there is the new Navigon 70 plus, and I'm asking a lot of questions :
- do you know if it stops alone (is it automatic ignition off)?
- Does it fit in the box ?

I'm wondering if this Sat nav doesn't stops alone, if anybody knows another one, which does it.

Thanks a lot
Sorry for the bad english

Ghora, I cant help with the Navigon but the Garmin 1490 fits the space perfectly and if you wire into the front cigar lighter it will switch on and off with the ignition. There are also a few leads on this forum that will show you how to hardwire it through the back. By the way your English is fine. Ralph

Hi everyone,
To avoid a new topic, I reply here.
I saw the post dealing with the Garmin, that's cool.
I found the 1490TV, I'd like to install it because it has a headphone plug.
But I still have a question : how can I pass the USB cable through the central console?
I don't want to broke a part of the console Big Cry

Thanks a lot
Ghoraj

Ghoraj, The easiest way is to drill a hole in the rear of the pocket that the Garmin will fit into and then by first removing the glove box you can get your hand up the back and push the front of the lead through the hole. (Hole needs to be about 10mm). If you then thread the cable down and under the centre console you will not need to cut anything. I kept the original plug for the cigar lighter so that I can disconnect the satnav temporarily if I wish. Whilst you read this I will look on the forum for another thread which describes in better detail how to wire the plug in. Ralph

Search the internet for Image Resizer for Windows. Accessed via the right click on a mouse, gives the option to resize images for print or the web.

Open picture in paint - "start", "programs", "acessories", "paint" - or right click on picture icon, select "open with", then select "paint".
Once in paint press "ctrl" + "w" together, this lets you resize, try 50% and 50%, should shrink it down to a managable size.

Paint is available free as standard in all versions of Windows, up to version 7 - not having used version 7 I am not sure. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
