New MY10 GS TD4 e

Just about to conclude on a new rimini red FL2 with 8012 miles on the clock. Gorgeous minted motor and can't wait. One wee niggle. The car was traded by the original owners for a new 5 series after only 6 months which makes me wonder if they were having real bother with it. Dealer (a luxury marque dealer) says not but they brought it up from Birmingham to the Glasgow area so wouldn't really know. The car was under service due mileage but 1 month over its service due schedule, but the selling dealer is sending it to a local LR dealer for a service before delivery and has confirmed in writing with LR that the warranty is intact (2 years left). Do you think I'm being paranoid about its history?

Should be OK. It has a warranty after all. Strange I've been trying to sell my Rimini Red HSE since it was about 6 months old too & it now has 8700 miles on it. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

some people for various reasons just don't like a 4X4 after owning one and go back to saloon in a relatively short time.

the fact that they went from FL2 to a new 5 series may suggest the FL2 did not meet their requirements, as if it was a problem car then they would probably have went for another 4X4.

as long as you have the 2 year warranty left you need not worry.

You should be able to get a Land Rover dealer to check its warrantee history so you can see if it has been in for any problems, recalls etc. If its had more than a few trips then I might think twice.... If its never seen the inside of a dealer workshop then chances are it is no worse than the next car Thumbs Up Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Hi Gerrybhoy and welcome to the forum,

Huge congrats on the purchase. I purchased my 2010 GS TD4e in April and I love it. It is stornoway grey and I decided to add the cold climate pack which adds heated windscreen and washer jets. I am glad I did after all this cold weather.

The GS is the best all round model as What Car? stated because it has good levels of equipment but costs a lot less than the lavishly equipped HSE. So you made a good choice and you will love the gearbox, very smooth!

Have you got any extras fitted?

Ignore CG going on about black paint (yawn) Laughing

Depends what you want. I am not fussed about privacy glass and I love the GS wheels so much I have no desire to change them.

@ GERRYBHOY
Congrats on the TD4e, I've had mine 3 weeks now and over the moon with it (not literally). Like you I wondered why after 10 months would someone get rid of it but felt safe with another 2 years warranty left. So when my registration document arrived I wrote the previous owner a letter and got a reply this week, all was well and she told me she had moved up the ladder to a Range Rover Cool

Hope you enjoy it as much as I am Thumbs Up

Thanks for that. By the time I get the red document it'll be too late to back out though. I'm just thinking that it has 2 years warranty left and appears to all intents and purposes to be a new car.

Hi and welcome to the Rimini Red owners club!
have a my10 td4e and it's a great motor especially with all
The inclement weather we've had. Youll never look back.
I'd really recommend getting some decent aftermarket
Tints put in the back windows - really great in the summer
Keeps car cooler and kids don't complain about the sun
In their eyes. Mine were £160 well spent. Fuji White MY13 SD4 Dynamic
