A week ago when I went for my LR Experience day to Skipton, I noted that one of the newer demo Freelanders (with only 750 odd miles on the clock), had the sump and tank guards. These looked different from the Mantec ones which are probably fitted on this vehicle. https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/user...D_5210.jpg
I managed to 'test' both these guards whilst off-roading

The LRE centre must have got these guards fitted after problems with drivers like myself in the past. Interestingly they didn't have side protection tubes.

Does anyone have these guards? Is it necessary to have these for off-roading use as the Freelander's clearance is less than that of its bigger brothers?
