Now on mt 3rd FL2 Auto and it is normal for change up at about 60mph if you drive briskly through gears.
Also fuel consumption is better in 5th at 45-55mph than in 6th. Around 1700-2000rpm IMHO is most eccomomical. All FL2's (3) Gone

It doesn't show the gear in the dash if on auto. It's normal for it to not reach 6th until a certain speed. Once used to it you should be able to feel what gear you are in.

Auto boxes are set up to prevent the engine from labouring. Mine never changes from 5th to 6th until 60 mph, or just over. As already stated, you can feel what gear you're in, once you've got used to it. I never use 'manual mode', unless I'm in the snow. I've never noticed it to be any more fuel efficient. My auto returns 32 mpg on average and 40 on a run. Just leave it in 'D' and enjoy the ride Thumbs Up Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass
