ride quality 19 inch shadow alloys

I have 19 inch shadow alloys fitted to my 59 HSE auto but find the ride quality especially over repaired roads and potholes very harsh. Would the ride quality be improved much by switching to standard 18 inch HSE alloys. Any thoughts

I had both 18" and 19" and wouldn't say there was much between them in ride quality Confused Ex-2009 Freelander 2 HSE Auto owner

I am currently running on 17" down from 19" and am surprised at the differance, there seems to be a bit more roll in the corners and not so sure footed now and a softer ride, will be going back to the 19's next year.
