So I have bought a...

XBox 360 Mr. Green

Off a mate who's upgraded his, what's the best way of connecting it up, wireless network or cable? The router is near by so I am heading to looking at wireless.

Do I get the XBox wireless thing or get something like a iomega iconnect wireless network station and this would allow me to connect my 1tb portable hard drive and XBox by ethernet

Do u need to subscribe to XBox live? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I'd go with the MS xbox network adaptor N, works very well just plug and play. But if the router is very close, just use a cable, works well and cheaper.

Yes, to get on xbox live you'll need to subscribe, plenty of places online for the best deals.

Quite like the look of the XBox wireless, but the iconnect has a Ethernet and inwill be able to make my portable hard drive a more permanent feature of my network too

Do I need XBox live to play COD online? As I can play it free with the wii Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yep you need to get gold membership to play any xbox game on line.http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000B5K...d_i=468294
And I would connect it directly to your router with a Ethernet cable rather than wireless, gives it prority over wireless demands. So if the missis is on the laptop it don't mess up your games.

Or you could use these,

Sorry Pinkie - I'm far too old to understand a word of whatever you said.

Best advise I can give is find yourself a 14 year old boy who wants to earn himself a bit of extra pocket money - FOR SETTING UP YOUR NEW TOY - Before you ask.

They know all the tricks and have a knack of bodging their way through without ever referring to hand books..... Mind yoyu driving is a completely different thing and I am not looking forwards to day my 14 tr old is 17. Too mcuh time on video (?) games and doesn't understand that motor crash can involve more than just a loss of one fo their 7 lives.

Good luck in the new age.......

DR There's always a way forward!

Set my XBox live account up (free for 1month) and been playing a couple of games today online, PES2009 and Forza 3,

Tried COD world at war but need to practice a little on the controller first as it's completely different than the Wii way of play

Only been able to hear one person speak though, and all he said was "wee ha ha weee" on forza Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
