Buyer's guide?

Hi everyone!

Just about to buy a 2nd hand FL2. The ones I am looking at are about 3yrs old.

I've never bought a 2nd hand car and I was wondering if anyone knows of a buyers guide for the FL2. Something with all the known fault checks etc in it. How to check TR is working etc.
Just a bit nervous about buying a lemon! Smile

Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers

Norway 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

There may be a few pitfalls when choosing a used Freely and there have been some duff ones out there Whistle . So the best reccomendation must be to buy a used Freely with the longest possible gaurantee from a well known Land Rover dealer. The price may be a bit more, but probably worth it in the long run Thumbs Up . 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

And congrats on the new car APCo!

Does anyone know of a list of recalls that have been put out? And anyway to tell if the car's had them? Alao, will LR hnour them if not done and it is out of warranty?

Visit the site here for all info including manuals, servicing, recalls, diagnostics etc. Mine never came with an owners manual (I assume they do) so I've been reading up online.

The only recall I had was for the auxiliary heater. It could be shorted by the aircon humidity vent. I did offer the dealer the letter acknowledging the fix but he didn't want it.

Check B pillars for wear where seat belts have rubbed - also check seat belts for wear. It's not a recall but a service advisory (I think).
Also early models were prone to problems with welds on steering arm breaking and clogging up the power steering filter leading to a whine. Costs £900 for a new steering arm and filter/reservoir if out of warranty.

Good news everyone!

Just put my deposit on an 07 SE manual. Should pick it up Tuesday, so hopefully the snow comes back big time next week and I can have a play in it.

I know this might kick off the colour debate, but once you've gone black, you'll never go back! Laughing As a man thinketh, in his heart so is he

Congratulations,

When looking for a Freelander 2 of this age SE spec is a good choice, it certainly suited me as I've still got one! 2011 SD4 HSE Ipanema Sand
