United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black
My First Freelander 2 - :)

Morning,
Picked up my first freelander 2 yesterday (Saturday), cue the bad weather!!! I had to drive from North Wales to South Wales to collect it. Is a 2008 SE (i'm not that rich) and after driving 135 miles all thats wrong with it (at the moment) is the reversing sensors - they dont work. A bit annoying but its still has manufacturers warranty so a call will be made on Monday morning to James Edwards. I will re-read the manual but from reading this superb forum it seems people do have issues with them in the rain, snow and ice.

I'm sure i'll be on here asking some dumb questions about mud flaps, side steps and spoilers etc. in the days and months to come Smile

Cheers,

Chris Very Happy

my first freelander 2, too!

Hi All,

Similar to Maffs, I picked up my first ever Landrover on Saturday - a Black, mint condition 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE with lots of toys. I really like it but the only thing that slightly bugs me is that it is not as 'lively' as the SD4 GS which I had for a full week whilst my HSE was sorted out. In fairness, the stats speak for themself but if the HSE had as much pull as the GS, I would be as chuft as a pig in sh*t. Very Happy

On a mega positive note, I awoke to 6 inches of snow this morning Razz and after I had brushed off the loose snow, the drive into work was effortless. I would have actually made it to work on time, but I was held up by all the 2WD's Censored

I really like this forum, it's made very intresting reading whilst a was driving the GS. Quick question - because I know someone will know the answer. How do you get the car to display the 'range' (how many miles you have left in the tank) rather than how many miles per gallon you are doing? I think I may get a hard time from the Mrs if she sees 19mpg on the dash! Wink

Thanks

Welcome maffs and vicar, vicar to get the range you will find a button on the end of the left hand indicator stalk. Just keep pressing to walk through the info until you get to "range". I keep mine on that permanently. Wink

Welcome all Thumbs Up

Maffs ask away on the dumb questions, so they forum can get the answers somewhere amongst the off topic answers Laughing

Vicar get a black pen and draw 3 little lines on the display one above each other then the 19 will look like a 39 Whistle But don't do it if your going to use the range, you'll run out of fuel Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

HDC great in snow

I live up a steep, narrow lane with running water down one side in places, which turns to ice in the cold. Heavy snow for the last few days. After a day of bottling it, imagining a 2-tonne entrant into the cresta run, I took my Freelander 2 down using HDC. No drama. I came up again no probs. Good some Vredestein wintrac tyres on, which helped. But even stuffing it in first at one point and over-revving, the car came up without a hitch. Very impressive.
