England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

This is interesting Nick.

Back in August 2007, I paid £25995 for my December 2006 56 plate HSE TD4 with 10400 miles on the clock.

Here we are, 3 years and 3 months later, with 41000 miles on it and I was offered in PX £17400 just 2 weeks ago. They advised me privately I would get around £18500 to £19000 for it. I know I am very anal with the way I look after mine, I would almost go as far as to say it is in perfect condition. It has a few stone chips but not one scratch, scuff, pin dent or swirl mark. The interior is again about as perfect as you can get, even against cars much younger than ours.

I asked how come it had held it's price so well, and the dealer told me that back in 2007 when the first Freelander 2's hit the 2nd hand market, they didn't really know how to price them, and used the residual values of the Freelander 1 as a guide. The FL2 has obviously kept better residuals that the FL1, and this along with the bad winter last year and the expected bad weather this yearshould ensure decent resale values.

It turns out now, that if I was to do the same again and buy a 9 month old HSE, your looking at £29995!

That is hilarious. Mine is a '58, 40K miles and I have been offered £19K for mine...

Paid £14995 for my June 07 Hse from dealer 3 month ago, 1 owner, full service history, very clean but high mileage. maybe the Tambora Flame devalues them Laughing

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

Just got a very good deal on mine - traded in against a new model.
Retained around 70% of the value I paid for it new - just less than three years ago!
Very happy!!! Other people i have talked to can't believe it - their cards (Not LR2 are pulling in around 45%!)

New car here and being picked up on Monday!!!
Best of all only ordered it on 28/10 - excellent Thumbs Up

Hope the snow isn't too bad just yet Twisted Evil There's always a way forward!

yours is a bit too personalised for many peoples tastes

I did wonder that. I regret putting the front Bumper styling cover & the light gaurds on it now to be honest, not so much from a visual point of view but particularly the light guards are a pain to clean around & the material the cover is made from doesn't appear to be particularly good quality as it shows every mark. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

When I first adverised it I looked at HSE models on the dealer forecourt in Ashford that were 09 reg & mine is 59. The models I looked at mostly had the 18" alloys & no accessories so I thought to price my one later registration the same as their 09 reg cars & given the extras i have assumed it to be a fair price. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

if I remember correctly james LPR suggested a price for a private sale and you advertised yours a couple of grand higher?
A dealer will expect to sell above private sale price and not everyone would want to pay extra for your extras (accessories)?

How much are you looking to sell it for now? (not that could afford it)

No one has sugested to me a price or if they had I havn't seen it....

Pistonheads advert is £26995. I am aware accessories don't add much to a car but if you are after one that has bits added that you want then given the rediculous price Landrover want for them one would assume mine would be on the top of that persons list rather than buying one & paying mega bucks for the accessories. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

They arn't allways on ebay & I didn't get all bits off there either. Most of the expensive stuff was done at Barretts in Ashford. Rolling Eyes

Ah yes, I remember that post & others similar being replied to by a couple of morons who don't post anymore. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

In mid September we traded our GS auto 57 plate (Sep reg) 23,500 miles for £14k at a Ford dealership having paid almost £19k - including towbar fitting - almost 2 years earlier. We felt it was a fair price considering it was due its service (although it had been MOT'd).

With a sprinkling of snow on the ground here today I'm a bit sad it's gone Crying or Very sad but then I have to remember swmbo Bow down can get in and out of the Galaxy without the struggle she had with the FL2.

Doubt it in these parts.... snow doesn't lie long here - well maybe it did 1950/51 with 14 inches of snow - but even in 2008's bad spell here it was all slushy by mid-morning (I tried our FL2 on the lanes and had very little to play with Big Cry ).
