Unfortunatley You, Me, Us, we are all small fry and you ain't gonna change a thing, They have more customers than cars to sell.
Personally I'd pick the car up and never return, just fill out the customer satisfaction survey and go elsewhere for servicing etc.

I remember when a new restaurant opened in town, Derek and I went in at 6 o clock on a Friday evening only to be scoffed at by the owner that we'd need a booking-even though they were still relatively empty-they only lasted 12 months-she looks sheepish now when I see her stocking the shelves in our local ASDA.

Maybe so, but thats no excuse for doing nothing.

You are right about the double dip, it's a coming. Personally, Asdas would be too good for the bad dealers.

Hey, we all have opinions and in honesty, I'd cut my nose off to spite my face with this one. If garages get away with it, they will just continue with the same crappy attitude. They might not give a toss, but one things for sure, if we don't object in some form, they certainly wont give a toss - ever! You gotta do whats right.

Which bit of Juniors perfectly correct statement of ''They have more customers than cars'' didn't you understand Rolling Eyes

For the best part of 50 years I was gland to "cut off my nose to spite my own face", some times with very serious consequences, yes it makes you feel better for a while. But you very rarely get what you actually want, or justice for that matter.

My advice, wait for the car you have ordered. Then take your business where it will be better appreciated. There is more money to be had in servicing and spares than new car sales, that will hurt them more and inconvenience you less. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

personally i wouldn't walk away, from a 2-3 week delay, after waiting months for it to be built, so i can hold my head up and say that dealer didn't mess me around Confused

I supposed at the end of the day, the dealer is not the one making the car be late, thats down to LR, unless the dealer didn't put the order through for one reason or another straight away, maybe for sales figures.

But would that be logged on the system to be seen if asked

As i said before, I would call LRCS and see what they have to say or offer, maybe a good dealer would work with you also in finding a middle ground. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I would frog march the dealer to the accessories department for a bit of goodwill compensation...

npinks, it's called justified retaliation for a rude retort. Maybe you should also be highlighting the comment that provoked the response!

That apart, we shouldn't accept that sort of behaviour from a dealer without some consequences for them. It's immaterial if they have other buyers for the car or not or do we accept that just because they can sell the car several times over, they can treat a customer how they like?

I think we ALL agree with your sentiment, However it may be a bit idealistic-when it boils down to it, They really really really don't give a flying F Censored K, did you see the article from Jeremy Clarkson? Even a big shot like him gets the same Censored service as the rest of us.
It makes me laugh when people mention 'Customer Service', there is no such thing anymore!
These days it means a person with a posh voice who repeats the same line over and over while providing no Service whatso ever.

Come the revolution!!! Then we can head down to our local L/R dealership with a milk bottle full of unleaded and a rag. Laughing
