Cheers Pegleg. Should've checked the manual, just assumed it was a fault as had never noticed it before. Gotta say it's a daft place for a warning light! |

Afterthought, probably, so you'd notice it when checking your RV mirror. We Don't Care About Pot Holes !! |

And here was me thinking that the light was there so the passenger could see it too? |

If I've been driving it for a year and only just noticed it then I doubt a passenger would have a clue it was there either! It's a bad design as an important warning like that should be in front of the driver on the dash. |

It's there in case you fit a child seat over the airbag, in which case it must be deactivated. If the warning was in the instrument panel it would then be on all the time and drive you mad. I assume that if the airbag is simply not working, as opposed to deactivated, the normal SRS warning light will come on. I forget how to deactivate the passenger bag (I don't have a child seat) but it's in the handbook somewhere. |

I'd still want it in the dash so that I remembered to switch the airbag back on again. Where the light is at the moment is useless as you have to remember to look up to check it. LR take note if any of your designers are reading this, safety critical warnings where we can see them please! Anyway, it wouldn't remind you to de-activate the airbag as it goes off after a couple of seconds. |

It's not a reminder to de-activate. It's a "reassuring" signal that the airbag has been deactivated and will not kill your child. It only goes off after a couple of seconds when test-lit on starting (like the other lights). If airbag deactivated it will stay lit. Anyone using a child seat regularly would, I imagine, automatically switch the airbag on and off once they got used to the routine. The reminder to deactivate it is on the side of the gluv box - visible when fitting the child seat. |
