I have just ordered a 2011 freelander and require a tow bar. I am told that it is not possible to
have a LR fitted 13 pin socket.
Is this correct?

They need to change their website if what you've been told is correct!

The LR tow bar and electrics that I had put on mine last month has a 13 pin socket.

My dealer fit LR detachable towbar has 13 pin socket as supplied by LR.

I asked for 13 Pin pin electrics when I got my FL2 back in summer from a dealer in North Wales. The salesman quoted the incorrect LR part number on the order form for the electric kit (although he made a separate note on the order form to state 13 Pin electrics were required), so I ended up with 2 X 7 Pin electrics. I’m still waiting for the dealer to respond even after talking to the customer satisfaction person and filling in comments on the ‘Satisfaction Survey’. A little miffed at paying a relatively high price to have the towbar fitted in the first place and then forking out an additional £25 for an adapter cable for my Caravan.
Seems to be a lack of knowledge at some dealers regarding towing equipment which is strange considering most Land Rovers are use for towing. Not the first time Ive had problems with LR dealer fit towbars.
