Adjusting windows closing mechanism

I recently had a problem with the driver's side window actuators.
When I tried to close the window, it moved to its top position - no problem at all. But instead of staying there, it moved down next second, as if something was obstructing its way. I tried several times, the problem persisted.

I called at the dealers, and they advised me to use this procedure:
- open the window, keeping the relevant switch pressed all the time
- when the bottom position is reached, release the button and press it again for another 3 seconds
- close the window, again keeping your finger on the button all the time
- release the button, then press it "up" again for 3 seconds

That's it, now the actuators have both the bottom and top positions programmed.

I hope this little trick will help some of you save some time or money.

The above can also be used to reset the Global Opening and Closing, sometimes the all the windows may fail to open or close correctly and above reset cures this.

Spot on Alex; most window lift ECU's are similar in this respect.
