Sorry missed your question, as wasn't watching topic!

agroman - both the tyres you mentioned look massive in the online photos, they look like they could easily take on anything i would be faced with. but i'm worried that the bigger the tread blocks the poorer steering responce, is this still the case? or is there no difference to the wranglers? reason being that 50% of the diving i'll do will be in the dry, 30% wet (very very wet ) and the other 20% snow. so i don't want to comprimise the normal road driving, esp long summer distances?

A bit late now, glad you are sorted. For what its worth Yokohamas are great on road, no difference from wranglers.- that I can tell anyway. Have yet to really test offroad, as its been a bit drier lately. Do circa 20K a year so need good road manners, otherwise would use Goodyear MTR's Thumbs Up

Hears hoping for another repeat of last winter, maybe more snow and less ice though Shocked 1998 Feelander XDI Hardback - Gone

I have just changed back to my std 18" rims with them on today, and have to admit the ride comfort and tyre/road noise is much better than on the 19's with Conti cross contact UHP's.

Just a note to say I have done some serious driving in Snow/Ice/Slush over the past few days with these on, even towed my trailer in 6' of snow, and all I can say is;

They are AWESOME Thumbs Up Recommended to one and all Very Happy

It's just like driving on wet roads in the spring there's that much more grip than Conti UHP's
