andy andy andy.... as for defenders being more appropriate,, well, it's true that 99% of the LR owning tree surgeons DO use defenders, they "can" cost a fortune to keep on the road,, my good friend has a fantastic 110 tipper,, it'll go anywhere,, BUT it's cost him £18k the last 5 years to keep on the road,, I also believe that a beat up defender is not good image to portray when visiting £million homes etc.. the D3 strikes the right balance between utilitarian and smart,,it does what i need it to,,, and it also shows that i take pride and care in my work,, coming form a marketing background i appreciate the importance of first impressions.. besides that,, the D3 is cheap to run,, i have a good one that "touch wood\' has cost me a set of tyres and that's it,,,i gets plenty of abuse and is asked to go places plenty of D3 owners would shudder at,, and usually towing a trailer too.. I think you may misunderstand me in this thread,,, I LOVE the FL2,, it's a great bit of kit,,,and having 2 LR's in the house is also great,,, there are things the FL2 is good at,, and there are things the D3 is good at,, however,, the FL2 will NEVER be as good as a D3 off road,, just cannot be done,,,and you are more than welcome to bring yours to any of the D3 meets and show us,, or even better,, when is the next FL2 offroad event? i'll bring the D3 over,,, cannot even fit a winch (unless i'm mistaken then please show me,,) Last edited by ad15 on 18th Oct 2010 11:40 am. Of course the Freelander is a girls car, that's why Land rover made it, to capture the female market. It's a decent car, but it is definitely a girls car and about to be even more so when the 2WD comes out.

I've had enough. My Freelander is one of the most testosterone filled macho cars I've ever owned.
