England 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

I had a new windscreen under warranty fitted one month before the warranty finished. It had started to de-laminate on both sides of the windscreen. Must of been a faulty batch on 07 & 08 reg's, I was on hoilday last week in Bakewell Derbyshire and I noticed two Freelanders with faulty screens. 2013 hse auto, black, almond leather, exnon lights, factory privacy glass, exhaust finisher, rear boot spoiler, mud flaps. Body door side moulding and steps.

Gone and fondly remembered
2012 XS (2013 up-grade LED lights front & rear)
2007 hse (2011 facelift)

Windscreen bonding

Hi all, not been here for a while, trying to catch up with all the posts.
Some of you may recall, I had my heated front screen replaced under warranty in July 09, following delamination down the drivers side A pillar. After they removed the screen, they then noticed that the new screen was damaged, so car sat at dealers for 3 days until a new screen was available.
Update from this, in May of this year, I received a stone chip in lower part of screen, and it was repaired by Autoglass through my insurance company.
On Tuesday(7/12/10) I got another stone chip from following A Jeep Patriot. Called Autoglass again, sent out the same guy who repaired screen last time, and although made a repair, advised I will need a new screen as he reckons it will fail an MOT as it's straight ahead of the steering wheel, and the crack is still visible.
When dealer had screen replaced, I noticed it was not a Land Rover stamped product, and I wondered whether this new screen was an inferior quality screen as prior to screen being changed, I had no issues at all, then it started delaminating.
Anyone any views on this? Does anyone hold out any hope of me persuing a claim with the dealer, for a poor quality repalcement screen?

Had mine replaced under warranty in the summer. The dealer got a specialist in to do it, thankfully! But prior to that, I showed it to an Autoglass fitter, who said it was a common fault. He said that a new one, if done under Insurance excess would probably not have the LR logo, as it was about £100 cheaper without it. They are all made by Pilkington (you'll find their logo on it) and are the same item!!!!!!! So you are paying £100 for the LR Logo - typical!

After all of this, I looked around at many bonded screens, and only LR had them without an 'edge moulding' or trim to protect the laminated edges, or they were recessed into pillar and roof trim. It begs the question whether a trim or silicone seal around these exposed edges might prevent a reocurrence of the problem. Was GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini with Tundra & Alpaca, Cold Climate Pack. Traded for Discovery Sport HSE Auto.

I too have had the delamination problem. Got the screen replaced, along with the rear parking sensors and passenger side seat belt trim! Driving home have found the screen is "squeaking"; will this settle down? Previous owner of;

Had the screen replaced twice in December (stone chip, then faulty heater wires), niether squeaked after fitting.
Can't see how it would squeek as it's bonded in place rather than the older ones that sitting in a seal.

Could the squeek be coming from the dash - some old sealant may have got stuck Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Having looked at the outside there appears to be a rubber seal that the windscreen sits on and that hasn't been replaced and doesn't look so good, so I'm assuming the screen is rattling on this or making contact with dash. Will see what dealer says when it goes back in! Previous owner of;
