My mate just bough a Qashqai - Thoughts?

As per the post title my mate has just bought a new car (60 plate) it is the 2.0 dCi Acenta model - list price is £20,445 but he got a decent discount. It is the 2WD model. I tried to convince him that he would be better off with a second hand FL2 but never mind. It is nice and I like the new shape but I don't like the idea of a car that looks like a 4x4 but only has 2WD. They do a 4WD model but still not gonna be as good as FL2 obviously.

What are the general thoughts on the Qashqai? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

looks like a good package and seems to be very popular, most likely very reliable and economical to run.

obviously does not have the offroad capabilty of FL2, but is not in the same class and cannot be compared.

still gives a higher driving position and practicality, etc

I would not knock it as there is a strong market for this type of vehicle.

Don't get me wrong. He took me for a spin in it and it is nice. I would be a proud owner if I had it but when shopping around I could not resist the extra money for the prestige and abilities of the FL2. Each to their own of course. Coming from FL1 ownership, it would of been hard to leave LR. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I drove over 70 000 miles in a Qashqai.
Was very happy with the car. There is a problem with the rear suspension though - may be sorted out by now but went through 3 sets under warranty.

best get used to it,, there will be a 2wd evoque it seems and wasnt there talk of a 2wd FL2 as well?

it's not as if the FL2 is permanent 4wd and it doesnt have a low box either...

It's a Censored car, if it was a plus 2, then the designers expect you to sit in seats 6 and 7 just like a Japanese, bum on ground with legs in air. I tried this out in a dealers and almost couldn't extracate myself and I am probably fitter than 99% on here.
