2010 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver

being 26, having 3 points and an accident [at fault], cheapest on a FL2 is 1300... with a parent on it to bring the price down, even though they aren't going to drive it. without a parent [or anyone with a clean licence and 10+ years of driving] on the insurance, its about 1800.

hopefully as the years progress and NCD build up it'll get cheaper.

oh, living in a high-vehicle crime area also doesnt help.

I think when we all chime in with our premiums, it's important to mention when you renewed. It's no good quoting
your great premium if your renewal was 9 or 10 months ago, as I think we're all aware that premiums have been steadily rising as a general rule over the last year.

Just to throw an example of how illogical insurance can seem. My wife's renewal the other week with elephant had gone up a few quid shy of £100. She sensibly shopped around and her best alternative quote came in over £100 better to which you guessed it elephant subsequently matched!! So they slapped a large chunk on her premium to then knock it all off with interest.....if you threaten to walk. It's plain cheeky really.

As a side note my wife's just told me that declaring your married is a positive and should knock a pound or two off your premium while declaring you've got kids is a negative (viewed as a distraction) and will put a pound or two on your premium. Go figure

Kez - Be very very careful. The current day method of being a "premium rate tart" changing providers each year has its down side. The companies having shaved premiums to the bone then look for any excuse INCLUDING non - disclosure to void a policy. Once a policy is voided you become a Pariah and future premiums will become extortionate.

If you are young and single then nothing wrong in adding a parent to the policy and likewise if you have a partner but do not say you are married if you are not and do not say you are childless if you have a brood.

After getting sick of looking at Gocompare etc., Yawn I rang Admiral and they matched the lowest quote I got and threw in Personal Accident protection. The advisor had to do the obligatory - 'go and speak with the manager' Laughing

All worked out in the end. Still f Censored g expensive though. I guess we have the 1 in 6 drives on the road who don't bohter to have insurance to thank for the annual rise Evil or Very Mad Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass
