Pics of Face lifted FL2 today!!

Pics from the Land Rover Stand at the Southampton Boat Show today of the face lifted FL2. It was the TD4 HSE with option wheels. Looked good but didnt realise even though its HSE, it didnt have the colour coded wing mirrors, door handles, skirts and front light washers. This is all saved for the SD4. From the front on it really did look like a mini RRS. According to the rep, today is launch day officially and the first showing to the general public.
Here's a link to my Flickr page with the pics.

Not sure how to put them within this site yet...

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Santorini Black

I wonder how many members of the general public noticed any difference?
Does look a little tidier from the front.
So presumably the normal HSE has been down graded has it given the 10 model year is colour coded at the bottom of the doors. I have no doubt the xenons fitted to that car are an option as well.

So does only the SD4 HSE have the extra? I wonder how much they are going to rip us off for that? Neutral

Probably best to own a 10 model year & hope someone hits the front so you can claim for a new grill & bumper on their insurance & then get an 11MDL front but keep the 10 coloured sill finishers! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

I'm not so sure they were xenons as all the new models come with projector lamps.
They all look the same until you turn them on and see the bluish light from xenons.

I notice even though it's an HSE it has only got 6 way seats, I thought all HSE's had 8 way seats, or was this a pre production model. Has anyone seen the new dashboard, whats different about it?

Not too much change with the new dash. Just the dials.
Just read all the sd4 models come with colour coded parts and Oberon finish door handles. Whereas all the td4 models do not.

I mentioned this in the other post about the MY11 and I am still unchanged. (No sour grapes Laughing ) This is not as good to look at as the previous shape end of. It's not that it's bad it's just that there is no significant change and the front fog lights are iffy to look at and the boot handle is awful. Also, the price difference to the SD4 is too much per model. The current engine is perfect and although the SD4 is quicker & other minor benefits I think it is just something for owners to boast about, 1 upmanship basically. When the FL3 comes out I guarantee that there will be an even more powerful engine so that it's owners can have 1 upmanship over MY11 onwards owners. I love the engine in my car and if I wanted a faster car I would not have bought an FL2 and I plan on sticking with it until I see the FL3 or maybe swap for a disco 4 but that is a long way off at the moment.

Sod the FL2, who cares. The photos with the Yummy Mummys and the Honda 4 stroke outboards is far more interesting than a revamped motor. Did you know the 3 Hondas on show total cost is more than the FL2!

If someone came to me tomorrow and said here is a MY11 SD4 GS free of charge to have instead of mine, I would take it then sell it so I could buy my car back again but keep the difference in list price as change Rolling with laughter LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Stornoway Grey

I also saw the new model yesterday at the Boat Show. Clearly did not go for the cars - bigger fish to fry, but having looked at it I would not be overly dissapointed if I was just getting a MY10 delivered (mine was 1year old yesterday) instead of a MY11. Remains to be seen if the engine really does make up for the underwhelming facelift!

I do agree that it is OTT for a few more horses and some colour coding.

Not to get off subject here but today I spotted a 60 plate stornoway grey Range Rover TDV8 Autobiography. Drool time. That guy must have some serious cash to throw around. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Examples of GS models:

Manual TD4: £25,175
Auto TD4: £26,795
SD4 (auto standard) £27,510

The SD4 HSE is listed as £35,510 Shocked

The biggest problem with the SD4 is you have to have the auto box. Jerky enough on kick down in the TD4, god knows how awful kick down will be with 190bhp. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
