Cancelling the Seat Belt Warning Chime.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I thought I’d write this up for anyone who wants to disable the Seat Belt Warning Chime on their Freelander 2’s.

The process is pretty much the same as on the Disco 3 & RRS, but when I originally tried it, I could not get it to work, but last evening I cracked it.

Simply sit in the car, turn on ignition, without starting the engine & then rapidly (within 1 min) put the safety belt in & out of the clip 10 times!

On the 10th time the safety belt light will stay on & you’ll hear a chime.

Then after that when you drive without your seat belt on you’ll still get the safety belt light but not the chiming.

If you want to re-enable the chime, just repeat the process.

What got me on my previous attempt was I only clicked the belt in & out 9 times, like you do on the D3 & RRS, but the Freelander needs 10 clicks.

For reference there’s two threads I found over on the D3 site, discussing this……..

1) http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=524

2) http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic4695.html?highlight= “You feel uneasy, as the mad scientist locks the door behind you & dissolves the key in a vat of Acid”

Laughing Well I do usually pop my head out from under cover, particularly when I discover a gem like this one.

Actually it’s been driving me nuts for a while now, I have the chime cancelled on my own RRS, but could never shut the chime up on “Freddy”

That was until last night…… Thumbs Up “You feel uneasy, as the mad scientist locks the door behind you & dissolves the key in a vat of Acid”

I'm just concerned that all our neighbours will see 30-50 year old men in their FL2's, slightly hunched over, biting their bottom lip, whilst frantically thrusting their right hands back and forth then shouting 'yes' and relaxing in the seat Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation May look a tad dubious to a passer by........... Whistle
