Don't know why LR bothered to keep it covered up really. Not much difference to speak of. Don't mind the back but the front looks too plastic with the border round the grill and the fogs just look naff so actually prefer the 'old' front. Would be interested to know if the dealers can re-map the 2010 engine with the 2011 efficiency improvements though, or whether there are fundamental mechanical changes to the engine which contribute to the new figures. |

From Autocar - "The changes to the 2.2, including a variable-vane turbocharger and a reprogrammed ECU, help it to meet Euro5 emissions rules."

Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

Hi Roverland I've just read the thread on "BlackLandy" site - very interesting. So the German market did not get the model - well the Swiss are a tight mean bunch and they probably wanted far too many €'s for it. "Pittison's" comments re the options list being too limited is on the surface correct, however, if a potential buyer pushed LR Switzerland you could have got almost any option you wished for - except for the seats. The seat sets were all pre produced in Poland for the entire Newport limited production run then shipped to Halewood. So no arm rests, variable lumbar support or electronic operation. Her Ladyship didn't want any of the 6 "fixed" body colour options so she told the LR Dealer she would not buy one. She rang LR Switzerland and insisted on Ipanema Sand. They said okay but it will come with black seating. No she said - Ipanema Sand + Terracotta or no sale. She has her Newport including her own options list. Now I'm trying to get daughter to photograph "Felix" so I can post some pictures. |

The video certainly presents a favourable perspective of the new front grille/bumper. But is the whole refreshment package so much better than the MY2010, and, will it deliver a demonstrable value advantage over what you get at the dealers right now for the MY2010 models |

60% of the engine mechanicals are new. We are waiting for our product directory, however I do remember that it is a different Turbo on 11my and it has ceramic injectors plus other bits and bobs. Block is the same.
