Just swapped my 2007 (57) XS manual for a 2010my GS auto, PCP due to end in October.

Car discount was £1540. I then screwed them down on the cost of the extras, originally I opted for a cheaper witter towbar which they would organise to be fitted at a local towbar centre, however they soon decided it was easier to fit an original one at the same price, than run the car to a fitting centre!

That sounds like a good discount. More competition in South East than the South West. Car prices have always been a bit higher down here. Also a bit more room for movement on an HSE than a GS?

Yes, lots more movement on an HSE and I imagine the more expensive models would also prove harder to shift with a facelift due. But my god it was hard work, they didn't seem to want to sell us a car at all to start with.

Could take you on some good offroad adventures near Canworthy Water! I work with farmers all around North and East Cornwall. I have a number of customers around that area, some have fields that need a good 4x4 to get to them - well good tyres anyway!
