We Went for Sunday dinner with relatives and left the car in direct sunlight for about 3 hours.
As we walked to the car, I pressed and held the unlock button.
Lo and behold, all doors unlocked and all windows went down.
Damn, I felt good. Laughing

Very Happy @ EV

Let's have a headcount:

Who actually reads the handbook for their vehicle?
This includes the "Quick start" leaflet that is supplied.

I'll start.

I read mine before I even picked the car up Very Happy

No idea of what they are worth, just took a guide from dealer forecourts & their's were standard HSE models without accessories. I've priced it for now at £29,550 but will listen to sensible offers. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

No offence taken,
Probably not singled out but having said that most of the posts tend or appear to have a hidden touch of sarcasm! Not that that bothers me as I have more sense than to let it!

Why don't you upgrade your 2007 FL2 as mine is Rimini Red?? (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

The 'Golbal opening' and 'Global closing' of windows via the key fob is covered in the manual section 6 (pages 41 and 42 of the UK handbook).... What does your handbook say scogs?

The US spec may be different, due to 'local' legislation/restrictions on operation?? {Haven't we covered this topic before?}

The handbook states the sunroof is excluded "for safety reasons" (presumably too difficult to design / programme an 'auto-reverse when object encountered' for the sunroof - probably needs too great a motor force to close it normally).

Back to the main topic of the thread -- There is no mention of this feature in the US user manual. Strange goings on.

Guys, will you please stop hi-jacking this thread? Very Happy

If you have nothing to offer, then please don't inject irrelevances into the conversation. Very Happy
I personally don't care what anyone says: I'm too old and too set in my ways to let anyone offend me. Very Happy

Just for those who don't understand the term "Hi-jack". Let me explain:
The original/opening topic was "Pressing and holding the release button". which would drop all windows and unlock the driver's door.
Any comments about other people's comments are slightly irrelevant.
If the original topic has been sorted/fixed/run its course, then, fine, bring on the comments.
But, please, don't start the frivolous comments until the thread has been sorted!

Me too Thumbs Up Maybe Mr Pinks can cut out all the B/S on the previous pages? Very Happy

Sorry again if I've upset you or anyone.

It seems a lot of people don't know about this feature so it's good you brought it up.

So does it work on your US vehicle?

Nope. Still doesn't work. And there have been no replies to my threads in the other US-based message boards that I browse so that tells me that nobody here is aware of it and quite possibly is somehow not an enabled feature on US models.
