Just impressed

my wife.
We Went for Sunday dinner with relatives and left the car in direct sunlight for about 3 hours.
As we walked to the car, I pressed and held the unlock button.
Lo and behold, all doors unlocked and all windows went down.
Damn, I felt good. Laughing

how do we program the car to do this? I tried searching, but couldn't locate any thread.

I'm in the US with a 2008 LR2 HSE. It didn't work on it's own so I imagine there's something I need to do to get this functionality.

you should not have to program the car (not in the UK anyway)

You press and hold the unlock button on the keyfob, (windows down) and press and hold the lock button (windows up)

once the windows start going down you should be able to release the button, and press it again if your just slightly opening them

Which begs the question "WHY!!!"

Maybe it is to stop people doing this...

Thanks for the quick reply, but it definitely doesn't work for me. Just tried it.

When I first got the LR2 I did reprogram the key FOB to unlock all of the doors with just one push of the unlock button. I wonder if that may have stopped this functionality.

do your windows drop/close on one touch of the door switches? if not they need resetting. remote open/close will not work if windows are not set

Did your "one shot" window operation works? For all windows?
I mean if you push the button of any window all the way up or down, did the window start to open or close and continues its move until it's fully closed or opened? Did this feature works for all the windows?
Because if one of the windows isn't calibrated for their end stops, the feature with opening/closing the windows from the remote, won't work.

One-touch operation of all windows do work just fine. I have posted this question about rolldown with key FOB on several other US-based LR2 message boards and.......crickets. Nobody replies to the question so that tells me that nobody here has this working. Interesting. maybe I'll ask the dealer at the next service.

I find that I have to keep the 'unlock' button pushed down for about 4 seconds.
It feels as though nothing is going to happen as the 4 seconds seems a l o n g time.
Have you pressed it down long enough?

If I don't then open a door within a minute or two, the doors relock, but the windows stay down.
I believe this is the correct working of this feature.

The 'Golbal opening' and 'Global closing' of windows via the key fob is covered in the manual section 6 (pages 41 and 42 of the UK handbook).... What does your handbook say scogs?

The US spec may be different, due to 'local' legislation/restrictions on operation?? {Haven't we covered this topic before?}

The handbook states the sunroof is excluded "for safety reasons" (presumably too difficult to design / programme an 'auto-reverse when object encountered' for the sunroof - probably needs too great a motor force to close it normally).
