I paid £297.68 at Cambrian Land Rover Aberystwyth for a "45000 mile service" and MOT. The extended warranty is on offer for £535 without Land Rover Assistance.

My 2007 FL2 is fast approaching 45000 miles.

Team Valley Land Rover (Gateshead) have quoted me £225 all in. They are an authorised Land Rover Service centre and much cheaper than the dealers.

May be worth a trip up here if it will save you some money! Gone S383 ABA Freelander 2.0 XEDI Rioja Red

Don't forget the brake fluid should be changed on a 3 year service. This is at an extra cost.

I had 3rd Service (72000km) yesterday (2 years time). The total amount was €550. Included in the price were the back brake pads and the engine sparks. The cost per item is more or less the same as the 1st service.

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

Just to bump this thread, I have the following prices so far:

Looking at around £250 from an independent 4x4 specialist, and £320 from a dealer.

Seems about bang in the middle. Trying another dealer not too far away from me, so I'll compare prices...

Just had a 3rd Service / 45,000 for £230 at Team Valley Land Rover, well worth the 20-30 minute drive further up north

For what it's worth...
My Freelander is due its 2 year service. I found the cost at a local specialist was about £220 all in. They also said the parts came in at under £90 and the service was 2.1 hrs. Armed with this, rang the local main dealer who quoted me £398. When I said I could get it done much cheaper at an independent, she came down to £300. When I said this was still well short she came down to £250 all in.
If you don't ask, you don't get! More to the point, since when does £90 + 2.1hrs = £398 in the first place?

My third service was done last Thursday - Frosts Landrover (Hove) - £179.94

Why such a big price variation?

I have an average speed of around 70 km/hour on the dash, not bad for a small country like ours. it's because I do 80% of my driving on highways and during low traffic so i can drive without braking all the time...
I've always wonderd if LR are made for a lot of faster driving (as they are made for offroading)? seems not a real problem for the moment, only third time i have a minor oil spill between gearbox and engine... every time cured in warranty. Fl2 zermattsilver TD4 S man
