I moved my car from Kuwait where I had bought it from the dealer (AlGhanim Motors) to Lebanon and its still under warranty and the Dealer in Lebanon (Mana Automotive) says I have to pay 4000$ just so they could "open a file" for my car so they can even accept it to service it!!!
has anyone heard about anything like this and is this for real??
They said that this is the price for all Land rover and range rovers regardless of model, which makes no sense at all , that I, who have a LR2 should be paying anything, and if I do it shouldnt be the same price as someone who wishes to "open a file" for his Range rover Vogue?!

Any feedback would sure be appreciated and any idea on a higher authority to contact would be priceless

Just spoke to LR Switzerland.
This fee is absolute nonsense - a fraudulent attempt to charge for something that LR as a company does not insist upon.

Sound very strange are Mana Automotive just a LR Dealer? Or a garage that sells multiple brands?

I can only speak about the UK dealers, but they don't make any charge to add you to the system, you might not be treated aswell as somebody who did buy from them, but no charge  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I just spoke to LR Middle East and they promised they will get back to me shortly and I hope that they have good news.
Mana auto is the Authorized LR dealer in Lebanon and the only one there so im basically stuck with them.
Well wish me luck and if anyone has any more info or advice let me know

I have to say Im DELIGHTED by the way LR handled this situation, I emailed the regional HQ which is in Dubai this morning stating the absurdity of the situation and they replied to me not even four hours later stating that my situation has been resolved and I dont have to pay a thing
and I got this mail while I had my CEO in my office and did a little dance ( I mean hey I saved $4000 with a simple mail so I feel fantastic!)

Well Kudos to Dubai HQ and Im back in love with Land Rover
