Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e S Manual Alaska White
freelander 2 2010 side steps

Hi All, After having the freelander for a few months and loving it I would like to add side steps. There are various internet sites selling these and I am confused. I had a look at 4x4 direct and at 200 quid they look okak. Has any one had any dealings with them and can I fit side steps myself? Question

Thanks to all

Del Del

you need a 'rivnut gun' , other than that its just a matter of removing then refitting trim panels...can be fiddly but easy with patience. to fit rivnuts without a gun you need basic diy skills and a few spanners, see the side tubes sticky thread on here

here. non genuine steps may not need the rivnuts...not sure Confused

England

JUST BOUGHT THE 200 QUID ONES OFF EBAY AND THEY LOOK GOOD. EASY TO FIT, EVEN FOR A LADY /TOTAL NOVICE. IF YOU ARE A HEAVY WEIGHT YOU MAY FIND THEY SAG SLIGHTLY WHEN YOU STEP UP, AS THE TWO BRACKETS ARE NEAR THE ENDS.
ALSO ONE BRACKET NEEDED THE BOLT HOLE FILING SLIGHTLY TO ACCOMODATE THE BOLT. ALL DONE IN AN HOUR - FIRST MOD I HAVE DONE JUST USED TWO SPANNERS BUT A SOCKET ST WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER Thumbs Up
