Changed my 08 GS Auto for new 10 model on 1st March. Old car had seat dropping fault and buzz from interior mirror, both fixed quickly. 25000 miles without fault.
New car, 1) Steering VERY camber sensitive, pulls to left and poor straight line stability in any sort of wind.
2) Has twice taken long period for starter to engage, sounds rough and lots of smoke.
3) In normal drive (not sport or manual select) when kick down used for overtake stays at 3000 RPM and will not change up even when lifting off throttle and allowing to slow down, apply throttle and still in low gear. Need to select manual to change up, back to auto then OK till next time.
4) WORST of all at 1800 and at 2800 rpm vibration felt through whole car. This is not a wheel balance problem as changing gear and remaining at same speed eliminates fault.
5) Wind niose from drivers door area.

Going to dealer tomorrow for test drive and discussion!!!! All FL2's (3) Gone

I have the XS auto which is 3 weeks old now and no problems. I think if you want to get it over 3k revs you should knock it into the tiptronic mode.

Ooopss - my condolences - always a nightmare when you go from one car with minor sorted niglles to one that there is no way you should be happy with. I know - I've been there twice with Renualt and Vauxhall.

Good luck sorting it out - tell them to keep the keys until they sort it out - thats the only way There's always a way forward!

Sorry to hear of your problems druand. None of these issues are acceptable and some are downright dangerous Hopefully, the dealer whomever it is will sort it out quickly Keep us posted please

i took a test drive in an Auto which had horrible shudder while driving it...... I hope mine isn't afflicted with a similar problem. Always a worry when taking delivery of a new car.

Let us know what the fix is.

Nearly 3 months and 5000 miles later vibration problem still not solved.
Goes back again on 14th july.
Steering problem twice diagnosed as NO FAULT on road test but they will not do a 4 wheel alignment although front and n/s rear tyres all show sign of feathering, especially n/s front. "they all do that"

Hand delivered letter to Dealer Principal regarding rejection of vehicle if not repaired at this attempt.
Watch this space.

L/Rover UK involved this time, new transfer box authorised wed 14th delivered to dealership fri 18th, and calls from LR customer service to keep me updated.

I have a 2008 XS Auto that has been giving me the same vibration and loud noise coming from somewhere the middle of car around 2000 rpm. Started doing it when car was 6 months old and I reported right away. They still have not been able to accept that this is an issue and dealer keeps saying that the noise/vibration is characteristic of the vehicle and all LR2 have it and I just did not notice it in the first 6 months!

What should I do to ensure that the issue is addressed?

Wind noise might be poor fitting door seal. Had it on mine. Turned out to be outer seal on door pillar near windscreen. Good luck.

I ask you this because a friend of mine has the same problem like you descibe(vibration felt/engine speed range 1800-3000rpm) since the car had 6,5k new;now the car has11k.
Changing the transfer box solve you problem?
