The New Range Rover Evoke (LRX)

The new Range Rover Evoke

Went on line to watch the launch of the "LRX" but after the Strictly Come Dancing interminably long pause getting it out of the box and then some "no mark" (to me anyway) rabbiting on and then the MD starting on about the history of Land Rover after 5 minutes I was bored to tears and switched off.

What we need is facts and figures!

And the Beckham FREELOADERS, not even a smile on her face, tottering in front of the lump of metal. It's bad enough him going on a free pass to SA, I can't understand exactly what he was doing there and no it didn't make a difference, now we have to be subject to sour face! If thats the clientel they are after, WAGS etc, who are as thick as sh*t, count me out! A bad presentation as Bill said with a no mark, Popham not disclosing the price, we didn't even get a shot of the interior, then the Skank. Even the name Evoke is crap. LRX was far better! LR gets it wrong again and why didn't I get an invite to the free drink and munchies?

I was happily surprised to see the RR Evoke being exactly as the concept LRX, really no much pf a change!

But the presentation was crap!

LRX would have been a much better name! Freelander 2 SE 4Td Izmir Blue, Dog cage for Alaskan Malamute, iphone Navigon Navigator

They even use some naff spelling:

Range Rover Evoque

Did someone in marketing try using this in scrabble at Christmas?

Ignore Popham's new best friend (George Lamb*) - the car looks fantastic

Thought I was watching BBLB for a moment! Rolling with laughter

I think there's going to be some disappointed people when they come to showrooms, the video showed just how small it actually is.

It looks like LR's version of the BMW X6 Mad Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I disagree.

Range Rover Evoque is to Freelander as Range Rover Sport is to Discovery 4.

A more expensive slightly smaller version of its sister car - nothing wrong with that. Also consider the teaser video before LRX was revealed at the Geneva(?) show in 2008 - it was only slightly bigger than a MINI - it appears to have grown since then...

Look at the size comparison of the RR Evoque (LRX) and the Freelander 2.

No the X6 is huge and very ugly like all BMW! The German do build good mechanics and technics but they don't know anything about design!

I like the LRX very much as well as the Freelander 2 for their design! Freelander 2 SE 4Td Izmir Blue, Dog cage for Alaskan Malamute, iphone Navigon Navigator

I think I've sussed why that woman Vicky Beckham is looking so glum, discovered one or all of the following,

a) Her husband is having an affair, oops sorry, he's done that one.
b) She has problem with her pelvic floor and had run out of tennor lady pads.
c) She has just realised it's a car she is promoting, not a perfume.
d) She had her one smile for the day.
e) she is annoyed Becks is home early from her World Cup Freebie.

Even the 10 o'clock news has a mention of the launch.

it's a WAG's motor, Chelsea Tractor phrase got a mention.
The Evoke is now a womans car according to Popham.
Quentin is spouting some crap as per.
Oh, they are 35k and do 50mpg.

Think they have screw up this launch. How can anyone go into a showroom and ask a salesman about one now? god, they'd think we have an IQ of less than 10.

Time to look for a different manufacturer. Brand loyalty is dead and has been for a while. Dealers, get out while you can.
