I just replied to your pm

But they blamed the radiator been covered in mud. Once they took it out and cleaned it, it was ok but was sold not so long after

People I spoke to said the issue pointed towards sensors, I bought a water sensor just in case, they are pretty cheap if you want to try that and cleaning mud of rad

They was in the process of sending the rad to have it flow tested, which could have also been a Problem, that when they found the
Mud and tried to charge me £300 to clean it Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I had exactly the same problem happen about 18 months ago. I was in traffic and suddenly had a beeping noise coming from the dash and noticed that the temp gauge was dancing on max. It wasnt a hot day and I hadnt been in traffic long. I managed to pull over and gave the car 5 minutes and restarted and it was absolutely fine. It was booked in at the stealers next day for something else so I got them to check it over and they couldnt find a single thing wrong - they left it running for an hour and the fan kicked in when it should so put it down to an electrical gremlin - its never happened again!
