I am after a rear mounted one really. I had a look at their website to get an idea of which you are talking about, there is no rack for £60. Maybe they changed their pricing...

It is rear mount , but high means above the lights so no need for lightboards and other nonsense

Hi I've got the Halfords rear high mount one as well, does the job. They have also got one that clamps (instead of the canvas straps on mine) but I dont know if thats OK for FL2's.

The clamp one...

I am on a look out for a cycle rack too, and found the 2 links to the Halford Cycle Racks useful. Thanks. Thumbs Up
Having read through the description on the page, it mentions this "Never fit a rear mounted cycle carrier to a vehicle with a rear spoiler."

I have a rear spoiler on my GS and its standard on an HSE. I presume that precaution needs to be taken for a normal car and not the FL2? Do any of you have an HSE and is it still a problem or is it okay with a spoiler too? If it is, then I might pop down to the local Halfords over the weekend and try it out. Land Rover Freelander 2 GS Santorini Black, 2.2 Td4-e, Rear Spoiler Very Happy

the spoiler is only glued on so will not take any tension from the bike racks webbing. maybe if the rack is high enough the webbing will not clash and you will be ok.

or you could buy a towbar then get a towbar mounted rack....but be aware people might then think you are a gypsy vanner road blocker and treat you with due distain. At work

Thanks CG, I would want to avoid fitting a towbar as I would only use it for the cycle rack and OH as you say the looks I would get from other road users and esp my mates for having an early life crisis would be be enough to try and avoid it. Rolling Eyes Whistle

Might have to look at some roof mounted options. Land Rover Freelander 2 GS Santorini Black, 2.2 Td4-e, Rear Spoiler Very Happy

psyxologos if you do get the halfords racks, to save you from fitting experiments, use the black hooks on the top webbings, the dumbells in the middle around the glass and the silver hooks at the bottom onto the towing ring

Also remove the rear wiper fuse from the box below the glove box, fuse 17 i think At work

Take off the spoiler !! NEVER. I think the spoiler looks quite nice on the FL2.

Thanks for the advice though, worth looking at options. Might actually put the bikes in the back which might be the cheaper option with some seat covers in.

This site is bad for the bank balance. Having already bought some sill guards last week, now its the cycle rack !!

Have a look at the Thule site. There is a configurator thingy and everything. Hi Darling, I'll be home in 10 mins. If I'm not back, please read this message again...
