Best Vacuum ??

Hi,
I have tried many different 12v vacuum cleaners and all are have so far been pretty crap !
I am unable to get an extension lead to get from my home to the car. I have also bought a cigarette lighter adaptor which converts the 12v dc to 240v ac - but this is fine for tv's, etc - but not for vacuum cleaners (not enough wattage power !). Oh, and I have got a 18v rechargeable black and decker - but that only lasts 7 minutes !!
Anyone got any ideas for a 12v dc vacuum cleaner that is worth buying ?
Thanks !

with my job i use dewalt 18volt cordless power tools. as i need to clean up after my works i baught a 18volt dewalt corded/cordless vacum cleaner. Its very good at cleaning up after me so i tried it in my car and was very impressed. There are renewable filters which you can buy but the main one lasts a good number of years,it will allso suck up wet dirt etc and if you put the hose in the other end it becomes a blower, very handy at times. usualy one battery fully charged will clean out the car and the battery anly takes an hour to charge Thumbs Up

There is a 12V Mini Dyson. I tried it when the engineer was fixing my DC05 & it was pretty good but then it is/was £99. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

We have the mini dyson too, and reckon its awesome, as it is cordless, and despite the battery not always lasting all that long, it is so powerful that it really gets the job done. Being so convenient to use, I find myself doing the car every few days, so its never bad in the first place, so doesn't need to go on for long. Not cheap at £99, but I think Dyson do recon. ones on their website. FL2 TD4 S Baltic Blue, with twin electrics and towbar, roofrails, luggage cover, spare wheel and mudflaps.

I have seen these models from Black and Decker - I like the flexi hose idea, but was wondering why the PAD 1200 is less powerful than the PD 1200 when they are both 12v ??

You can get replacement batteries for the dyson off the website, the Dyson last a lot longer if you just press the button and don't take your finger off till you have finished as it uses a lot of battery power to start it once it's up and running its ok. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Does the Dyson not work from the cigarette lighter too? (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

I agree with the Dyson, we have got the DC31 animal version, fantastic, apart from the battery life, I find I can do most of the car. The version we have has got a switch for the power meaning we get either 6mins on full of 10minutes on low.

Have a look at Dysons on site as they sell them refurbished with a one year warrenty, and they also have an ebay store as well.

Mine only came with a 240v plug, I don't know if you can buy a 12v charger as well though.
