Passenger side carpets

Hi all,
Picked up my new 2010 FL2 on Wednesday.
Whilst leaning over to access the glove box, I noticed 3 circular cuts in the carpet which go right down to the carpet base.
The circles form a triangle roughly 2-3 inches apart just below the front of the passenger seat.
I've just been speaking to the dealer and there initial answer was "We don't know".
They are investigating further and will get back to me.
Have any members (2010 owners) noticed anything similar in their vehicle.
OK, now you've read this, go and have a look Very Happy

That zone (the base of the passenger seat) is used for the 1kg fire extinguisher.
Those three holes are the fixing points.

Slight problem, I haven't got a fire extinguisher fitted.
It looks like an automatic machine carried out an operation that it shouldn't when the carpets were fitted.
Either way, the 3 circles destroy the integrity of the carpet.

I thought the fire extinguisher was fitted under the seat in the FL1 and in the boot on the FL2 - mine is definately in the boot. Complete with cut out in rubber mat Sad Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Yours is a 2kg fire extinguisher. I am talking about the 1kg version.
Its place is just in front of the passenger seat.
And the holes are there just in case you fit one, for the extinguisher support bracket. No need to have 2 separate versions of the carpets as long as normally that holes cannot be seen.
Check on http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com the Accessory Fitting Instructions section for FL2 and the 1kg version of the extinguisher and you'll see your holes... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thanks for the replies, especially Alex. Very Happy
My points are this:

The circles are very prominent, with the lighter coloured back of the carpet showing through. This is very obvious as the cars carpets are black.

Secondly, surely the integrity of the carpet pile is compromised, which will lead to deterioration sooner rather than later.

In a car costing this much, I would expect a less obvious pre-cut for an extinguisher bracket which I have no intention of fitting.
