2 months old, and still love driving to and from work, still get a kick out of sitting at traffic lights looking over the roofs of other cars

I used Conwy Land Rover at Llandudno 'cause Williams and Guy Salmon's weren't interested in selling me one! Confused Possibly something to do with trading in a Fiesta ST?

Conwy were great & they even delivered it to me last night saving me the journey back to Wales Thumbs Up

Bit of a hornets nest this one. There are a couple of guys on here who have gone the self fit route, brave boys they are. I wanted my towbar back in February, there really wasn't much choice then so I ended up back at the dealer on the basis that if I bought it from them there would be no warranty complications (electrics in new cars is scarey stuff) At that time none of the specialist tow bar suppliers had fitted one, and they were all giving me conflicting stories about what was involved and parts availabilty seemed to be uncertain.

However one local place I've dealt with a couple of times previously and am happy to recommend is North West Towbars in Stockport (next door to KwikFit under the viaduct)

I've got a LR fixed swan neck with twin electrics, happy to let you have look at it and see what's involved ....

We will have a chat on the 30th avtur, but for the benefit of forum members, what if any are the benefits of the different towbars?? I initially wanted one for the bikes as it looked like the roof bars were not going to happen...plus the wife if she went out with the kids in school holidays would never lift the bikes on the roof, so it made sense to get a 'tow bar clamping bike rack' Thumbs Up We had the removable tow bar fitted as I did not want to be t Censored ting my shins on it everyday...since then we decided we may get a caravan...(struth never thought those words would pass my lips, but yes!! Embarassed Embarassed). for info the caravan show is on at the NEC 16th -21st Oct Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter!!!

The local caravan dealer said the tow bar we have will be fine to tow the largest caravan they have, a twin axel 25 footer. So what, and why, such a large selection of towbars??? I think L/ R offer three different ones, removable, fixed, swan neck...others....????

Your advice is most welcome

You made a wise choice Carl. The removable one is just as robust as the fixed, but as you rightly pointed out, the benefits of not knocking your shins is a big plus. Not to mention Mrs Fraz, not getting grease all over her legs! Mack

I have a fixed towbar on my FL2 and have never hit my shin on it. Yes my head once when washing the back, but once you have done this you'll never do it again.... Sad

As for getting grease on my trousers, Been a caravaner myself, I must inform you the latest AL-KO style hitches do not use grease as they have a stabaliser built in and this would not work if you apply grease. Whistle
