B Post Wearing

I have informed my garage approx 4 weeks ago that the seat belts are wearing away my B Post, they said they will speak to Land Rover, I have told them about the other cars having problems.

Apart from the replacement B Post covers, has anybody else had any other fix done for this?

2800 miles in mine and no sign of B post wearing but then again I might be going blind.

Yep 8000 miles and ours is worn badly on the drivers side!

It is goign back for the gear linkage to be replaced and will mention that the B pillar is wearing along with the auto lights which not working correctly since they fixed the drivers window which kept dropping when closing.

B-post pillar waering

Would somebody please explain in detail what is waering at the B-pillar by the seat belt!
My FL 2 does not show any wearing at the b-pillar by the seat belt. Or maybe I look at the wrong place.

Thanks

Mine is on the front edge were the sealt belt comes through the trim on the B Post,

if you sit in your car and pull the seat belt as if you are going to be putting it on, the belt rubs against the trims front edge.

Basically the front edge of the seatbelt wears a groove in the plastic trim of the b-pillar after a short time.

Hi all your FL2 Owners, XS TD4 Baltic Blue, Now have over 5000 miles since Febuary , only been back to the dealer 3 times --1) to update ECU, 2) Hand brake adjustment, 3) I had my "B" Post driver seat belt trim replaced , it took 4 wks to order, fitted 12 wks ago, BUT Now wearing Again! + now hearing a knock from R/H/S Rear door (sounds like something loose inside the door panel) , Again the dealer been very good (Stratstone MK), but i think need a letter to LR to raise the question of "B" Post wearing + Fatigue of the webbing on the seatbelt, (being in the fire & rescue service i see alot of RTC's) the last thing you want is your seat belt to fail!, One reason for buying this vehicle! which my wife & l both enjoy driving!

The B pillar is where the seat belt comes out from.

As people have said the belt rubs against the plastic trim on the pillar and wears it away....

My old FL2 was worn quite badly and the B-pillar itself was starting to go grey!!! Now since the only material in that area to give off a grey colour would be the black seat belt, can we presume the belt itself is wearing out Question

I would certainly think so. Can see no reason for only the b-pillar wearing out! Possibly a safety issue then? Evil or Very Mad

B-pillar wearing

Thank you all for the detailed description.
My FL2 is now 2 months old and I have some 7000 km on the speedometer but no B-pillar wearing on my FL2. And I have had a good look after your guidance.
As my upper seatbelt mechanism did make some noise when pulling the belt, I have sprayed a litte silicone
oil into the upper B-pillar opening. Since then the noise is gone and the seatbelt moves very smooth.
Silicone oil is non-greasing and non-staining, so safely to use without adverse effects.

I hope you never need to find out, but I trust on impact you wont be so slippy that you slide over the top of the belt!! Laughing

5,000 KM and I've just noticed this PIA issue on my b pillar.

Its weaing a shallow notch..

Have they made the plastic from recycled yogurt? Evil or Very Mad

Do I take it back as a warranty issue or what??

I have just had my first service done and mentioned this to the dealer. They have said that lnadrover have no specific fix for this. The dealer will replace the cover for me under warranty. I am going to wait and see if Land Rover come up with a solution as the wearing is not that bad at the moment. When it starts looking a bit shabby I will get the dealer to replace it.
