I'll be getting hold of some brand new 18" Pirelli Scorpions if they are any use to you?

Can beat any price you can find on the net for them (UK)

Cheers,

Pirelli Scorpions will wear a lot faster than your wranglers its down to the make up of the soft materials they use for better grip. Had a set on my BMW 3 series, they lasted just 17,000 miles driven gently. The fl2 is much heaver and 4 wheel drive.

I think the Continental Contacts I use over winter are better in all respects than the Wranglers that are on my summer wheels. I won't replace the Wranglers with the same again.
Not sure what rim sizes are available in the Contis though.

Had Continental Contacts which lasted 28K miles. Now changed to Wranglers which give a better ride and having had them on a Disco 2 feel they are also better in the wet and snow. On the Disco they lasted over 35K miles. But there is not much in it. Wranglers were £130 each while Continental Contacts were about £140 - £150 each.

Interesting...
That's the exact opposite of my experience with those 2 options.
During the snow, I was struggling for grip with the Wranglers - swapped to the Contis and things noticeably improved.

Had the Wranglers on a Disco in the French Alps in the snow, Gendarme stopping everyone and making them put chains on, one look at the Disco, a smile and waved on. No problems with grip in snow with them in the Alps. Had the Contacts on the Freelander in the Swiss Alps and they were OK. My preference is Wrangler as they tend to last longer than the Contacts but there's not a lot in it, apart from price and personal preference.
