Does anyone know if the SatNav screen can receive a TV or video signal ? I'm sure there must be a technically minded clever s*d on here that can modify the screen input connections somehow to accept a TV or video input ?! |

FYI. Tried to get a NAVTV unit installed here. Installers had my car for about two weeks and couldn't figure it out, consulted with the company (based in Florida I think); gave up. Claim that the product is incompatible. Still looking for other options, too, if anyone comes across one that works for the LR2/Freelander2, please post... BTW, the installer that attempted the unit install is Galpin Auto Sports or GAS, the outfit that does MTV's Pimp My Ride Series. So I figure if they can't do it... |

What unit does the RR and RRS have? Is it not a similar screen or could it be installed? Simon

From what I read and remember (which could easily be faulty), the Freelander2 (or LR2 in the states) was the first of the Land Rover line to use the new [at-the-time] Alpine navigation screen and interface. All the models now should be using the same navigation unit. However, most of the other products out there that offer the OEM interface are specific to RR and RRS, which I'm pretty sure is for the older nav units. GAS was explaining that the screen was missing a required output, though I don't know any more of the technical details or got a chance to look at the unit out of the dash. A web search did yield some other products, though I haven't tried any of them and am still wary of the compatibility until I hear otherwise. Anyone else try any other products that work?!
