Wing mirror trim scuffs

I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

While driving down narrow country lanes,I managed to scuff the plastic trim at the back of the wing mirrors. Can someone suggest any products that might remove the scuffs? They are not deep- just surface ones but they don't look good.

Thanks. Thumbs Up

try Autoglym Trim spray

I don't think you can removed the scratches due to it been a textured plastic and not painted, all you can you is mask the damage or fit painted mirror caps Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I've tried spreys before and all the do is buff up the trim but don't mask the damage.

only other people to try is smart repairers, some say they can repair plastic bumper scuffs, but at what cost?

you can pick a set of painted mirror covers up for about £85 Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I believe "Slimer" over on Disco3 can get them as he has a for sale thread over there at the moment, i believe, and he should be able to confirm the D3 caps are the sames as the FL2 ones

Also the same photos he uses are on the famous auction site too for a similar price Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

You could try these. They are very quickly delivered and you can always save at least £5 by offering best offer.

Germany 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Alaska White

I had a scratch appear on the door handle on my old car. I had a scratch removal kit I bought in Aldi (in germany). Essentially it was a cutting paste with 3000 grade wet and dry sandpaper and finishing polish. It is the same kit you will find at a caravan dealer for removing scratches from plastic caravan/camper windows.

I wetted the door handle and used the sandpaper in conjunction with the polish and the scratch went; so since I had a scratch on the back bumper plastic (the unpainted underneath bit) I gave it a whirl and the scratch easily came out. Don't press too hard (remember little and often) and remember to keep the area you are working on wet (a plant water mist spray bottle is ideal).

Good luck Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys
