Being to Skipton Land Rover Experiance today for free half day, so why was it expensive ? well I now want a auto box, what a great afternoon, the car can do far more than what I will ever demand of it, some of the angles we were leaning at defied gravity but the car just keep going.

Land Rover rang me today at work and said I had won a day so they must still be doing the competition for those who have not entered yet.

I had a ticket, but couldn't be bothered in honesty. I mean great to see what it can do and I've done that a while ago, but I wouldn't repeat it. |

I was offered a 1/2 day at Milton keynes in January, great fun, due to the rain the FL2 was up to its axles in mud, but just kept going. Yes it was expensive, following the experience I bought an XS Auto. Although I would never treat my own FL2 to that sort of off roading it is nice to know what it can do. My only real criticism is the lack of an 8 way adjustable seat, it really is spoiling the ship for a happarth of tar, but have to accept it's done for marketing reasons rather than cost. |

I know you are not on your own about not getting your own car at dizzy angles. The bit I don't understand is why not? We all bought and drive Landrovers, why not use them for what they were designed? I will most likely have my car off road at some point, but it's the angle sideways I wouldn't, up and down no problems there tis the sideways one I leave to the LRE cars, or keep to less extreme routes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

Have a 1/2 LRE day booked in June. Here's hoping for a typical British summer day - more rain please! FL2 - '10. GS Santorini Black. |

Like the OP I did mine at Skipton - timed perfectly with a holiday up north.

This is bang on the money, any good instructor will tell you to avoid side slopes where ever possible, they will show you what the vehicle can do but best go up and down in a straight line. Its good to know what you can do with them as I have known many a routeen drive turn into the unexpected. 2009 FL2 GS 1985 90Tdi |

I also got a call this week from LR Admin and have opted for the 28th July at Ashford - looking forward to it, they said you can now take two guests. As I have had the Freelander for a year already will ask them if I can skip the on road demo and get more off roading. 2009 XS Manual in Martinique Blue with XS Style Pack, Privacy Glass, 19" Alloys, Private Plates, Wood Company centre armrest, stainless steel sill protectors. |
