Hi folks.

I've had my FL2 now for a couple of weeks so thought I'd post a thread. So far covered nearly 500 miles and can start opening up the 2.2D a bit more. Although I knew after a test drive I would be happy with the car, having just come from a 2010MY Range Rover Sport 3.0 HSE, I'm surprised to say I haven't once looked back, well maybe a glance.

The FL2 is just as quiet and comfy as the RRS, the only disappointment being the 'old' plastic interior like my 2008 Disco 3 had. I'm sure the impending facelift will bring this up to the same feel as the current new LR's.

The 2.2D has some poke and combined with the auto makes this car a joy to drive.

Haven't taken some decent photo's yet, just one of me dropping of my RRS and picking up the FL2.

Glad you bought the best colour how does the Freelander compare to the RR Sport on mpg ??? If I had all the money I spent on Beer!, I'd spend it on Beer!.

What made you go from the Range Rover Sport to a Freelander?

Thanks chaps. The FL2 is the family wheels, I loved the Sport, but it went to Morrison's and back and sat in the garage most of the time, while I took the 'everyday hack' to work. My wife has agreed I can now go out and get something a lot faster for me instead.

The RRS 3.0 trip computer showed about 30-32MPG, the FL2 is too new to say, but is 35MPG+ at the mo.......

This is my 6th LR over the past few years and I have to say all have been excellent, aside the FL1:

1) 1997 FL1 Sport
2) 2001 P38 RR HSE 'Overfinch'
3) 2003 Mk 3 FFRR Vogue
4) 2008 Disco 3 HSE
5) 2010 RR Sport HSE
6) 2010 FL2 HSE
7) 2011 LRX?????

No problems... but could they not identify you via your cars in your garage? Not a lot of people out there who are in your job with 3 cars you say you have in your sig, I presume you might bring them up in conversation at work.


I doubt CG could bring him self to sell the photos, his kept them for his *ank bank and scuppered you
