The HSE seats have an extra sow pattern in the bolsters & the inserts are perforated as are the sections of the lower part of the back rest & rear section of the seat base if that makes sense. You can choose from black leather, Alpaca (cream) or Storm Grey (I have this). One of my criticisms was lack of choice.

You should also note in the HSE you get a drivers tilt adjustment (which is independant of the seat height adjuster). having swapped from a 2008 HSE to a new 2010 the seat is vastly more comfortable for me with a 6' 4" frame as I can get much more support under my legs. There is much more PLASTIC than just the headrests - Its ONLY the seat facings that are leather. It is easy to tell the difference - just to the feel of the texture will tell you what is what. The seat backs for example are Pleather as are the lower sides. This is one penny pinching detail I think LR crap on themselfs . 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. The leather interior is a dissapointment I agree. My 2008MY D3 had the new 'soft leather' as did my 2010MY Sport, I think the facelift FL2/3? will go with a better interior as with the rest of the LR lineup 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto
