After working on Landrovers for 18 years just ordered one

Just joined and my first post so hello to everyone. Just put a deposit down on an 07 Freelander 2. Thought its about time I buy one as I have repaired them now for 18 years and have been running my own Landrover specialists garage for 5 years near York. Fingers crossed hope I have bought a good one. Thumbs Up

He was refering to Freelander 2's not Land Rovers in general

Lypsl
Have you read some of the issues being raised by owners? Sad Thumbs Up
Would take your point that Freelander 2's are certainly better than Landrover products of old Simon

There is only one Landrover I would buy and that is the freelander 2. All the rest of them are .......................................... and have lots of problems. Thought it about time I got one as I have dealer level diagnostics to repair and remap.
Thats not me trying to get work. Might do a thread on fuel consumption before and after autologic remap. I have done lots of reading on here already and the mpg seems to be a bit worring. Some people claim 24mpg upto 45ish or more.
im excited about becoming a freelander 2 owner and think it will be good for business and give me a better understanding of the vehicle and what customer want. Thumbs Up

Quattro,
I too was conerned about fuel consumption. I had no need to worry, mine is a man 'box and it's excellent. The past couple of days i've done 90 miles on A roads and yesterday i spend an hour driving around town. 44mpg. Impressive eh?
I agree with you about FL2; i spent 11 years at Solihull in the engineering building. Nough said!
However, what almost put me off is the comments on Peugeot 4007 forum which used the same PSA powertrian.
But it didn't!!
