Learned yesterday that a friend to me is driving one of the Freelanders at the promoshow in Morocco. Says they have driven hard - desert, over stones, gravel etc. - in more than a week and nothing has gone wrong thus far. They have an X3 beemer as a reference car and the new Freelander has come on top in all situations. Taking a BMW as reference car shows Land Rover is confident the Freelander has turned out right. That said, have you noticed that there are BMW X3 ads on nearly all the Freelander review pages on the web? Seems the Bavarians are taking the newcomer seriously.
