Australia 2009 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Santorini Black
Some idiot rammed into my behind

I was rammed into the back the other day by a d**khead who wasn't watching the front when trying to over take.
I was left with a slight dent and scratches (thank god it was at low speeds). It then turned out he wasn't insured, so to save the hassle I asking him how much he had on him. He had $900 (Aussie dollars) so I just took it, with his details and photos.

But now I need to decide whether I am to fix it through repair shop or insurance. Sorry I don't know how to upload photos. I don't know if it can be repaired or the whole bumper replaced.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

Hi Huang , sorry to hear of your accident. Hope kept the idiots details !! My other half had a similar experience a few years ago and the insurance company told us that currently in the UK if the floor pan or chassis has suffered any significant damage the car will be written off which is what happened to us.

The FL2 has high ground clearance so if the car that hit you was lower it could do this kind of damage. I'm not a scare mongerer, just giving you the heads up Thumbs Up

I hope he willingly gave the money to you, and your got something signed to say so Shocked

could he not claim that you robbed him in fury over the accident or something Question

I would get the car fully checked out, even with small collisions a crumple zone could have crumpled, so it would be able to work the next time to the same effect

End of the day thats why you have insurance Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
